New Orleans Original Brass Fest

Louis Armstrong Park, 701 N Rampart St, New Orleans, LA 70116, USA

DESCRIPTION

The New Orleans Original Brass Festival was founded to celebrate the culture and legacy of New Orleans music and its culture bearers. This is the first of many events to support the Louisiana registered not-for-profit organization Save Our Brass Culture Foundation with a mission to protect, preserve and advocate a stronger sustainable brass band community.

Save Our Brass Culture Foundation's programs provide employment opportunities for brass band musicians. This organization was created by musicians and for musicians. The event will kick off with a very special Brass Jazz Memorial Tribute honoring brass band musicians who are now deceased, such as Lionel “Uncle Lionel” Batiste, Anthony “Tuba Fats” Lacen, Dinneral Shavers, Arian Macklin and many more.
