Hendrick’s Gin Brings Back the Great Cucumber Exchange

This June, Hendrick’s Gin invites the inquisitive and the parched to stay cool and curiously refreshed with the triumphant return of its most marvellous tradition: the Great Cucumber Exchange. From 16 to 19 June, bars and restaurants across Singapore will become peculiar trading posts for The Great Cucumber Exchange. The extraordinary economic anomaly allows guests to exchange a cucumber for a complimentary Hendrick’s & Tonic, served on the house while stocks last. This year’s cucumber-carriers can choose from two delightfully distinctive libations from Hendrick’s Cabinet of Curiosities: the botanically beguiling Hendrick’s Flora Adora, a floral flourish of garden-party elegance, or the newest limited-edition release of Hendrick’s Grand Cabaret, a lavish ode to stone fruits and extravagant indulgence. 

As whispers of the Great Cucumber Exchange ripple through the city, Hendrick’s Gin will be descending upon Singapore’s bustling central business district to brace netizens for the impending cucumber stock surge. Keep eyes peeled during the lunch hours, as a mysterious ‘Cucumber Town Council’ roves the streets of Raffles Place and Tanjong Pagar to hand out emergency cucumbers to unsuspecting citizens,  redeemable for a delectable gin libation at participating bars nearby.

The spirit’s unusual distillation process includes an infusion of rose and cucumber, which yields an extraordinarily smooth gin that is a rare union of lightness and complexity. The Great Cucumber Exchange runs from 16 to 19 June at selected bars and restaurants across Singapore.
