Bio:

Dathan is the Director of Product Management for the Cybersecurity & DNS team at CIRA. With over 20 years’ experience in the Cybersecurity and technology space, Dathan is passionate about bringing solutions to the market that solve real world problems. Dathan joined CIRA in the spring of 2025 to help launch new products to help protect Canadian citizens and business from cyber-attacks.

Prior to joining CIRA, Dathan spent most of his career at Entrust in a variety of individual contributor and leadership roles. With a background that includes Technical Sales and Product Management, Dathan brings a customer first mindset to the Cybersecurity & DNS team at CIRA.

Abstract:
As Canada’s digital landscape continues to evolve, the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) has taken on an increasingly vital role in strengthening the nation’s cybersecurity posture. This session provides an update on CIRA’s recent and ongoing contributions to cybersecurity, including its delivery of trusted public services such as CIRA Canadian Shield, a free DNS firewall helping protect millions of Canadians. Attendees will gain insight into CIRA’s broader cybersecurity strategy, the partnerships driving impact across sectors, and where future investments are being directed. Whether you're from government, private industry, or the non-profit sector, this presentation will help you understand how CIRA is working to build a safer internet for all Canadians—and how your organization can benefit from these initiatives.
