Tatiana Kalganova: A career researching AI and its real-life applications
What is Artificial Intelligence? The definition of AI has dramatically changed since the recent avalanche of open source libraries and applications. Just mentioning “ChatGPT” can trigger passionate debate about the emerging power of AI in our daily lives.
Professor Tatiana Kalganova talks about her career in Artificial Intelligence - a field she has been at the forefront of since long before it was in the public spotlight.
Tatiana joined Brunel University London as a Lecturer in 2000 and has followed a career path leading to promotion to Professor in 2022. She invites you to join her for this special evening where she shares some of her life and career experiences and takes questions from the audience. Be inspired by her ground-breaking research in Artificial Intelligence.
Tatiana will discuss how AI research has drawn inspiration from the natural world, seeking to emulate biological processes in a computing environment. The brain, ant colonies, bird colonies, evolutionary theory and the immune system are among the biological systems that have reshaped the AI world we know now.
Tatiana hopes you will join her for a drinks reception after the event.
Note: We would love to see you on campus, where you will be able to enjoy refreshments and informal discussion. We will livestream or record the event. Please click here to be provided with the link in due course.
