THE SHOPS AT SKYVIEW INVITES THE COMMUNITY TO ITS ‘MOON FESTIVAL’ CELEBRATION

The Shops at Skyview, a multi-level shopping destination in Flushing, Queens  (https://www.theshopsatskyviewny.com), invites the community to its fun-filled Moon Festival event on Saturday, September 14th, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Moon Festival, also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival, is a fun, colorful and significantly important event among Asian communities and is the second most important festival besides Lunar New Year in many Asian countries. Meant to be a time for gathering and family reunion, the Moon Festival event at The Shops at Skyview will include a cultural dance performance, live music performance, Moon Fest food tastings, a DIY Moon Cake Workshop and more. The shopping center is providing both complimentary and ticketed events for everyone in the Queens area to enjoy. Tickets are limited and pre-registration is required to attend.                         Schedule of Activities

  • 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. Registration required; complimentary ticket provided.
  • Cultural Dance Performance: Attendees are invited to experience a captivating blend of Asian ribbon and feather fan dance, reimagined with contemporary twists inspired by the fairy in the moon, presented by the award-winning D&M Dancing Art Studio.
  • Live Music Performance: Attendees will experience a fusion of traditional and modern sounds with erhu, pipa, and guzheng by MISS, a New York-based all-female band dedicated to promoting Asian instruments.
  • Moon Fest Tasting: Attendees will be able to savor famous Hong Kong MX Mooncakes , pastries, snacks, and pairing teas available from Skyview retailers.
  • 3:30 p.m. & 5:00 p.m. Registration required; tickets are $35 per person.
  • Moon Cake DIY Workshop: Participants will learn how to make delicious, sweet moon cake with author of “The Vibrant Hong Kong Table,” Christine Wong. Tickets include one copy of “The Vibrant Hong Kong Table” cookbook (a $30 value), moon cake ingredients, special gift box, and a $10 coupon to Grandma’s Dimsum.
