The Shops at Skyview, a multi-level shopping destination in New York City (https://www.theshopsatskyviewny.com), invites the community to the fifth in its series of six “K-Fun Summer School” Korean cultural classes in a “Skyview High”-themed format taking place now through early August, with one day during each designated week dedicated to exploring the vibrant and captivating facets of Korean pop music, art, fashion, wellness, food and traditional cultural experiences. On Sunday, July 28th, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., the center will hold a celebration of Korean food on Level 4 of the center. During this event, there will be snack and beverage tastings provided by aT Center America as well as a kimchi cookoff competition with three finalists competing live on stage with a panel of judges selecting the best kimchi recipe; winners will receive cash prizes ranging from $500 to $2,000 plus airline and hotel coverage (up to $500) courtesy of aT Center America. Following the kimchi cookoff, there will also be a Korean food and cocktail workshop in collaboration with Won Soju, the popular beverage founded by K-pop singer Jay Park (cocktail tasting is for ages 21+ only). Participants who have attended more than four of these K-Fun events will receive a “graduation gift” that includes a postcard signed by beloved K-pop star Jung Dae Hyun.
