The S.O.S. Curacao Triathlon 2022

Willemstad, Curaçao

DESCRIPTION

The SOS CURACAO is

CANCELLED

Dear Athletes,

We hope this email finds you well, for those that have not seen our video update or have not heard,  we regret to inform you that the SOS Curacao 2022 will be canceled.

This decision was not taken lightly; we have been fighting through the winding current of the many different parts that make up an event of this magnitude as well as navigating the intricacies of doing so on the island during a pandemic.

We at Tri Curacao have a high level of standard when producing events. We also respect the Davis family, SOS Brand, and Our participants, Volunteers, Sponsors, and Charities.

Unfortunately, based on the current instability that Covid is causing around the globe and specifically here on Curacao have become to unpredictable and we are unable to ensure our ability to provide the high-quality race that you deserve.

Given the above, here is Tri Curacao's Plan:

We will refund all entry monies that have been paid to us.

If you still intend to come to Curacao despite the cancellation, we Tri Curacao will offer a “scaled training” It could be running of a full course, or portions of the SOS Curacao.

All will be based on rules from the Curacao Government and Regulations concerning Covid19 in March.

Based on that, the question of “Well if you can do this why not the event”. This is a great question. With all the logistics that surround the SOS Curacao here on the island and the uncertainty of Covid, we are unable to guarantee that on March 12  the event will be allowed to happen as planned or at all. We do not know if we will be able to facilitate as needed all logistics for execution and most importantly safety. We can however be fluid in the fact that whatever we are allowed by the government to do at that time would be offered to you to participate in at no charge.

* If you wish to cancel your trip to the island we are truly sorry for this inconvenience and are in the hopes that you would return to the island in the near future, please email info@tri-curacao.com and let us know, we will be looking to send you something.

It has been our mission since Feb 19, 2019, to create a Bucket List Race-Cation that people will talk about for the ages, we are in the hopes that you will continue to support us in this mission in the years to come.

If you have any questions or we can be of help if you are coming or unable to make it to Curacao we are available to you:

PC Racing in partnership with NEW YORK TRIATHLETE ASSOCIATION is proud to be bringing back for a second year our EPIC triathlon-based adventure race to the beautiful Caribbean island of Curaçao.

The PC Racing organization continues to challenge ourselves, teammates, partners, and participants are to interactively promote exciting community ideas and adventures that push our imaginations of what is possible in sport, health, and well-being. In keeping with the spirit of our mission, we bring back the wildly successful adventure race for March 2022!!

Curaçao continues to be a preeminent tourist destination in the Caribbean. This Dutch Caribbean island is known for its quaint, picturesque beaches tucked into interesting coves and expansive coral reefs teeming with rich marine life.

Curaçao is the perfect place to host this exciting adventure race and leverage its incredible and interesting features to put this amazing island on the map as a premier “RaceCation” destination. And to quote World Champion Triathlete Tim Don, “People will want to come here because it’s something they cannot do anywhere else in the world!”

"S.O.S.” describes The Survival of the Shawangunks, a non-traditional adventure triathlon established in 1983. This race, historically an eight-stage multi-discipline triathlon is held in New Paltz, NY every September and is the brainchild of Don Davis, a veteran Triathlete and founder of the New York Triathlete Association. This adventure race is consistently ranked among the best adventure triathlons in the world, and one of most scenic. S.O.S. has become a right of passage in the world of Triathlon and so popular that every year the event sells out in mere minutes. This one of a kind race format is unique, exciting, technical and to quote Don, “It’s not just a race, it’s combination triathlon and ADVENTURE!”.The popularity and desire for additional races like Survival of the Shawangunks inspired Don his son Evan and his team to look for other exceptionally challenging and scenic locations to host similar events. Don and Evan have been instrumental in the success of S.O.S., its expansion, and will play a major role in this new event.

PC Racing is humbled and excited to continue our partnership with the S.O.S. Organization and bring this dynamic race to life once again!
