DESCRIPTION

Discover the Berkeley City Club, Julia Morgan's "Little Castle"

Docents will lead you through the vaulted halls and arcaded courtyards of this medieval fantasy, dubbed "The Little Castle", built in 1930 as a women's community clubhouse, and introduce you to California native Julia Morgan (1872-1957), the first woman architect certified by the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris.  Throughout her career, Morgan designed an astonishing 700 buildings, more than half completed before Women in the U.S. were allowed to vote!

Tours of Morgan's landmark Berkeley City Club are offered on the Fourth Sunday of every each month (Except December) between 1 and 3:30.

The 45 minute tours are on a drop-in basis; a $10 contribution per visitor is requested.
