Vancouver Mall, a lifestyle shopping center providing shopping, dining, entertainment and a host of services to residents of Southwest Washington and the Portland, Oregon, metropolitan area (www.ShopVancouverMall.com), in cooperation with its tenants, has launched a month-long Mental Health Awareness campaign to support psychological wellbeing and to provide a safe space where kindness, conversation and connection are always in style. As part of this awareness-building effort, the center, together with Macy’s, will present “Style Your Mind,” a self-care and styling workshop. During this fun and informative event, which takes place in the MyPerks Lounge on Saturday, May 24th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Dr. Nat Guerra-Hughes, PhD, MFT, QMHP, a mental health professional currently serving as the assistant director to OSU Assist and Student Care Services at Oregon State University, will offer guided discussions on self-care and emotional wellness, provide tips and tools for managing daily stress, discuss the impact of self-esteem on mental well-being, and share information on mental health resources and support groups. Refreshments and wellness-focused product demos will be provided by Macy's professionals, including an interactive workshop led by Macy's local Vancouver personal stylist Miriam Huerta on personal styling and its impact on building self-esteem along with tips on using fashion and grooming as tools for self-expression. Highlighting its own study on how healthy skin can positively impact mental wellbeing, the event will also include a presentation by Clinique on how makeup routines and skincare can serve as a form of self-care, enhancing mood and confidence.
