16 Annual Footloose Freedom Mile Fun Run

 

Kick off your 4th of July in Mammoth Lakes with the Mammoth Track Club's Annual Footloose Freedom Mile! This event is all about FUN! It is a one-mile road race staged 30 minutes (approximately 10:30am) before the Town of Mammoth Lakes Fourth of July parade on Old Mammoth Road. 
 
Proceeds of the 2021 Footloose Freedom Mile will go to the elite and youth divisions of the Mammoth Track Club.

 

All Participants Receive:
  • Signature Event T-Shirt
  • Commemorative Race Bib
  • Finisher's Medal
  • Water Stations @ Start and Finish
 
About The Race:
  • The race starts at the Snowcreek Resort Driving Range and finishes near Footloose Sports at the corner of Old Mammoth Road and Main Street.
  • Runners of all ages and abilities are welcome!
  • The course is closed to vehicles.
  • There is no official timing. There will be a race clock at the finish line for you to record your finishing time.
Awards:
  • First Overall Male & Female will receive a homemade pie baked by Olympian Deena Kastor. 
  • Everyone who successfully finishes the race will receive a commemorative Footloose Freedom Mile medal.
  • $500 Bonus For a New Course Record.  Men: 4:11.0 - Gabe Proctor 2014, Women: 5:13.0 - Morgan Thornburg 2017
 
Parking
  • We encourage all participants to park their vehicles in town and walk to the start line (Snowcreek Golf Driving Range on Old Mammoth Rd. and Minaret) to pick up their bib numbers, race shirts and race chips. Mammoth Creek Park is under construction this summer and will not be available to the public.
Other Details:
  • Port-A-Potties will be available at the starting line.
  • Sorry, no dogs allowed as we have had prior issues with runners getting tangled in leashes.
  • Festive 4th of July outfits are encouraged!
