Division 4 Championships Hobie Points Regatta

ORGANIZING AUTHORITY:

Hobie Fleet 214, Vancouver, BC

 

RULES

The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing, Prescriptions of the National Authority, IHCA Class Rules. Sailing Instructions will be available online and onsite. 

 ENTRIES

Open to all Hobie Classes. HCANA membership is required for crew or skipper. Proof of Liability Insurance is required.

 SCORING

The low point scoring system in Rule A4 will be used. When 4 or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score. One race shall be completed to constitute a regatta.

PENALTY SYSTEM: For all classes, rule 44.1 is changed so that the Two-Turns penalty is replaced by the One-Turn Penalty.

 VENUE

Races will be conducted in the waters of Harrison Lake directly in front of the town of Harrison. Rendall Park will be the launch location. Park access will be available from approximately 1200h, Friday Sept 2nd to 1200h, Monday Sept 5th. Boats may be left on-site until Monday morning.

 FEES

$60 for Single handed boats

$80 for Double handed boats

 SCHEDULE

Registration will be Saturday, Sept 3rd, 9am – 10am, in Rendall Park.

First Warning Signals:

Saturday Sept 3rd, 1130h

Sunday Sept 4th, 1100h

No races shall be started after 1630h on Sunday September 1st.

Supper will be provided for all competitors Saturday and Sunday evening. Additional meals tickets are available at extra cost when registering.

RADIO COMMUNICATION: 

Boats may carry radios, however, except in an emergency, a boat that is racing shall not make voice or data transmissions and shall not receive voice or data communication that is not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile phones.
