Notice of Race

Come on out for your favorite regatta.  Good breeze, big swell, and the distance race!! All proceeds from this regatta go directly to Hobie Division 4 youth sailing.

Note: event subject to changes per CDC and Health Dept. COVID19 guidelines. Please follow current local, state, and federal guidelines as applicable.

Organizing Authority: Fleet 95 and Division 4 of the Hobie Class Association of North America.

Rules: The regatta will be governed by the 2021-2024 Racing Rules of Sailing as well as relevant class rules.

Eligibility & Entry: The regatta is open to class legal Hobie Wave, 14, 16, 17, 18, F18 (Tiger & Wildcat) and 20s. Five entries constitute a one-design class. One person on each boat must be 2021 HCA-NA members. To join or renew visit: HCANA or hcana.hobieclass.com

Sailing Instructions: Available at registration.

Venue: Vista Park, Skamokawa WA, on the Columbia River. We have Site V3 as our beach access point.

Insurance: Each participating boat shall have current 3rd party liability insurance with a minimum coverage of not less than $100,000.

Lodging: Camping is available at Skamokawa Vista Park. Local B&B’s may also be available. Vista Park camping will be near the shelter, southeast of the shelter road, the other side may be closed for field restoration. Boat trailers will be fine along the beach road.

Entry fees:

$50 double-handed
$40 single-handed
$25 Youth (20 or under, skipper and crew)

100% of net proceeds will go directly to the Division 4 Hobie Youth account in memory of Todd Christensen, our successful Hobie 16 sailor who loved Skamokawa and ruled the mighty Columbia.

Hobie Division 4 Code of Conduct Pledge

As members of the Hobie Family, enjoying the “Hobie Way of Life” together, we shall pledge to watch over and protect each other. We shall all strive to set examples of good conduct and sportsmanship and treat each other with respect and dignity. Adult participants shall take responsibility for the wellbeing of all youth at our events. It may be possible adult beverages (aka controlled substances) may be present at some of our events. Underage youth shall not acquire or consume any adult beverages or controlled substances at these events. All adults shall assure that no adult beverages or controlled substances are provided to, acquired by, or consumed by, underage youth at these events to the extent possible. We shall all aim for a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. And we shall all Have a Hobie Day!
