Day-of registration will be available from 5pm-5:45pm

Conquer the Night and test your skills at:

Zero Dark Dirty

The course offers three different obstacle sections and the challenge of running at night.

HEADLAMPS ARE REQUIRED - You have the option to pre-purchase one during the registration process for $5 (Special Online Discount - YAY!) or bring your own on race day.

Headlamps will also be available for purchase at check-in for $10.

5:00pm – Check-In and Day of Registration Open
6:00pm – Start Time

Age limit 13+

Must show valid authorized base ID to Check In.  

Main Gate Entrance
I-5 Northbound
Take the Camp Pendleton exit.

I-5 Southbound
Take the Camp Pendleton/Harbor Drive exit and turn left.

Enter the main gate and continue on Vandergrift for approximately 8 miles.
Turn left at Santa Margarita Road.
Turn right at Lake O’Neill Road and follow event signs to parking area.

San Luis Rey Gate Entrance
Enter the gate and proceed approximately 4 miles on Vandergrift.
Turn right at Santa Margarita Road.
Turn right at Lake O’Neill Road and follow event signs to parking area.

 

Zero Dark Dirty is now open to the General Public

with the following stipulations:

Those without Base Access must do one of the following: 

  • Arrange to be sponsored by an authorized base patron to obtain a visitors pass. 
  • Arrange to be escorted in on race morning by an authorized base patron.   
  • Sign up for the race, bring your confirmation email (printed or on your phone), Real ID or Passport, Car Insurance, and vehicle registration to the Visitor Center prior to event day to obtain a 1-day pass. 
  • *NOTE:  This pass will replace any other visitor pass you currently have, and you will need to go to the visitor center to apply for your previous pass again after the race. 
  • (i.e. bike pass, golf pass, etc.) 

Other Restrictions

  • You will need to pass a background check (at the Visitor Center) to obtain a visitor pass.
  • Those under the age of 18 cannot obtain a visitor pass and must be escorted on base.
  • Those in possession of a visitor pass cannot escort another adult who doesn’t have a pass.

Please do not register for the run unless these requirements have been coordinated.  Patrons who don’t make arrangements or obtain a pass to enter Camp Pendleton will be turned away and no refund will be issued.  

The Camp Pendleton Visitor Center is located in Bldg. 20255T, adjacent to the Main Gate near I-5.

Business hours are (Mon-Fri) 7:30am – 3:30pm.

Due to the large demand for visitor passes, please obtain your pass as soon as you register to avoid being turned away due to extended waiting times or unforeseen closures.  Usually, the best time to come is first thing in the morning.  Avoid Fridays as that day is always extremely busy.
