71st Annual World Championship OTL
Over-the-Line (OTL ) is a unique beach softball game that originated in San Diego. The game is played by two teams of three players each, and the objective is to hit the ball over a line about 55 feet in front of the batter. The game is played without bases, and the team that scores the most runs wins. The Old Mission Beach Athletic Club (OMBAC) hosts the annual World Championship Over-the-Line Tournament, which takes place on Fiesta Island in Mission Bay. The tournament is held over two weekends in July, and it attracts thousands of players and spectators from all over the world. The tournament has been a San Diego tradition for 70 years, and it is known for its carefree, daytime, adults-only atmosphere. Teams dress up in costumes, bring tents, chairs, beer, and hilarious signs to the beach for the event. If you’re looking for a fun way to spend a summer day in San Diego, OTL is definitely worth checking out!
