ORGANIZING AUTHORITY:

1. RULES
   • The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing
   • H17/ H20 competitors using dimensionally similar sails (no square-tops) manufactured by Whirlwind Sails shall not be protestable by a competitor, the race committee, or the technical committee.  This changes RRS 60.1(a), 60.2(a) and 60.4(a).
2. ENTRIES
   • Open to all Hobie Classes. HCANA membership is required for crew or skipper. Proof of Liability Insurance is required.
   • Other non-Hobie catamaran classes and non-members may join the regatta but are required to pay a temporary membership fee of $30 to participate. Payable during online registration or onsite
   • A minimum of 5 boats are required for a non-Hobie class start. There will be no handicapped starts.
3. FEES
   • $60 for Single handed boats
   • $80 for Double handed boats
   • Online registration is preferred and will be available

4. SCHEDULE
   • Registration and check-in will be Saturday, August 31, 9am – 10am, in Rendall Park.
   • First Warning Signals:
     • Saturday Aug 31, 1130h
     • Sunday Sept 1, 1100h
   • No races shall be started after 1630h on Sunday September 1
   • Supper will be provided for all competitors Saturday evening. Additional meals tickets are available at extra cost when registering.

 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

5. • Sailing instructions will be available at cultuslakesailing.com after August 27^th, 2024. Sailors are encouraged to bring electronic copies. Paper copies will be available onsite in limited supply.
6. VENUE
   • Races will be conducted in the waters of Harrison Lake directly in front of the town of Harrison. Rendall Park will be the launch location. Park access will be available from approximately 1000, Thursday August 29 to 1200h, Monday Sept 2. Boats may be left on-site until Monday morning.
7. COURSES
   • Standard Hobie courses will be sailed. Course stickers may be available to be purchased during registration.
8. PENALTY SYSTEM:
   • For all classes, rule 44.1 is changed so that the Two-Turns penalty is replaced by the One-Turn Penalty.
9. SCORING
   • The low point scoring system in Rule A4 will be used. One race is required to be completed to constitute a series.
   • When 4 or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
10. RADIO COMMUNICATION:
    • Boats may carry radios, however, except in an emergency, a boat that is racing shall not make voice or data transmissions and shall not receive voice or data communication that is not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile phones.
