Lake Quinault Northwest Area Championship
NOTICE OF RACE   -   AUGUST 3-4, 2024   Rain Forest Resort Village

Organizing Authority: Hobie Class Association—Division 4.

Rules: The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.  Sailing Instructions will be available at registration.

Entries: This event is open to all Hobie classes. HCANA membership is required (one per boat, or one Single Regatta Fee). Due to limited internet access onsite, please Join, Renew, or pay the Single Regatta Fee now at HCANA or hcana.hobieclass.com. Please bring a receipt to registration. Proof of Liability Insurance is required. Boat inspection (Milfoil, Zebra Mussels) and $20 Permit Sticker required for all boats upon arrival, processed by the Rain Forest Resort.

Please note this is the second of two back-to-back regattas this year at Lake Quinault. The preceding weekend will be the Lake Quinault Points Regatta. Register separately for each event. Everyone is welcome to spend the week between. Various experienced Division racers will be on hand to answer questions, give tips and advice etc.

Accommodations: The regatta headquarters is at the Rain Forest Resort Village, on the south shore of Lake Quinault. There is RV and tent camping, motel rooms, and cabins at the Rain Forest Resort.

All Motel and Cabin accommodation inventory is managed by Rain Forest Resort Village. Please call them directly at 800-255-6936 or book online at Rain Forest Resort. Please let them know you are with the Hobie group!

All campground inventory is being held by Hobie Division 4 from Friday night July 26th through Saturday night August 3rd. Any remaining spaces will be released June 20th to the public, so please book early to arrange for your preferred spot! For campground space please email Bob Combie at bobcombie@gmail.com  or text 206-484-6764. Provide what kind of space (large, small, tent), your arrival date and your departure date.

There are three other campgrounds on the lake expected to be open. Willaby and Falls Creek campground reservations can be made through www.recreation.gov. Gatton Creek campground is walk-in (no reservations).

Hobie Division 4 Code of Conduct Pledge

As members of the Hobie Family, enjoying the “Hobie Way of Life” together, we shall pledge to watch over and protect each other. We shall all strive to set examples of good conduct and sportsmanship and treat each other with respect and dignity. Adult participants shall take responsibility for the wellbeing of all youth at our events. It may be possible adult beverages (aka controlled substances) may be present at some of our events. Underage youth shall not acquire or consume any adult beverages or controlled substances at these events. All adults shall assure that no adult beverages or controlled substances are provided to, acquired by, or consumed by, underage youth at these events to the extent possible. We shall all aim for a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. And we shall all Have a Hobie Day!
