2024 Sacramento ACT Annual Fundraiser: Home is Sacred

2425 Sierra Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95825, USA

DESCRIPTION

We are excited to announce that our annual fundraiser will be returning to an in-person event! This late afternoon event will be an opportunity for our community to gather to celebrate the work of our organization, with a specific emphasis on our efforts in the last year. Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served.

For over 32 years Sacramento ACT has worked to make Sacramento a more just and equitable community. In the past year, a large portion of our efforts across the organization have been to address housing, homelessness, and education. For this reason, the theme of this year’s fundraiser will be: HOME IS SACRED.

At this year's fundraiser we will be highlighting the work of a few of our local organizing committees and the ways they are fighting to get people housed, to keep people housed, and to create a true sense of home in our neighborhoods and schools. We will also be honoring Rabbi Mona and Congregation B’Nai Israel for their leadership during this year's migrant arrival crisis. Additionally, we will be honoring Shireen Miles, a longtime Sacramento ACT Leader and member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, who has selflessly devoted many long hours to be a supportive presence to our new neighbors since their arrival in June.

We expect to have over 200 people in attendance representing a wide cross-section of our community: lay people and leaders from ACT, faith leaders, elected officials, grant makers and business representatives. We certainly hope you will attend.
