Frequently Asked Questions
How is the winner determined?
The rider/team that completes the most laps over the three-hour event will hold the title of “Thicc Yeti Champion” for their category. If two riders/teams complete the same number of laps, the rider/team that finishes first will be considered the champion.

What type of bike may I ride?
If we have snow, we're asking that people ride fatbikes (or share with a team member) or lower the pressure on a mid-fat tire so that it doesn't cut into the trail at all.

If it's dry out, you may ride a mountain bike or fatbike.

How serious is the racing?
The “racing” is as serious or as casual as you want it to be. The event is intended as a social event and opportunity to connect with other fatbike riders as much as it is a race. We encourage everyone to come out regardless of skill level. To facilitate this, riders will be allowed to stop to take a break, eat, warm-up or chat with a friend at any time and then get back to racing again at any time they choose.

If you want to come out, do one lap and then chat with other riders for the rest of the time we’re excited to have you! If you want to ride for three hours straight to be crowned the “Thicc Yeti Solo Champion” we’re equally excited to have you!

What if it’s cold?
The event will be held regardless of weather conditions unless there is an extreme cold warning.

There will be two areas where riders will be able to stop to warm-up if needed, the clubhouse near the parking lot which is heated and the warm-up shack at the approximate midpoint of the course which will have a wood stove that will be burning wood if the temperature is below 10 degrees Celsius.
