The Great Falls Foundation is proud to host the 2024 Upper Yough Rodeo!

ON-LINE ONLY. NO DAY OF REGISTRATION.

REGISTRATION ENDS AT 10:00 PM ON THURSDAY, JUNE 20.

- Fee: $25

 

RODEO DAY SCHEDULE 6/22/2024:

10:30am - 11:300am check-in and bib pick-up (Upper Yough take-out NOT the Put-In) - you must come pick up your bib in order to compete.

12:15 noon Pre-rodeo meeting. (upper Yough Put-in)

1:00 pm start floating in.

~4pm - 5:00 pm Awards ceremony TBA.

 

READ CAREFULLY:

The upper Yough is a Class IV whitewater run and the rodeo is meant for advanced freestyle boaters only. 

 

RACE DAY: Please report to the UPPER Yough take-out between 10:30 am and 11:30 am to check in, sign your waiver and receive your bib. Registration is $25. ONLINE PRE-REGISTRATION ONLY. If you do not pre-register you will not be permitted to compete. NO DAY OF REGISTRATION. Following check-in make sure that you are at the UPPER Yough Put-in by 12:15 for a pre-race meeting. The competitors and judges will start to paddle in promptly at 1:00 pm.

 

CATEGORIES: There will be a Women's, Men's, and Junior's category with a prize for the winner of each category. use any boat you want to compete in but don't show up with a boat you can't give a proper ride in for the judges.

 

PARKING: Park at the back of the friendsville lot and we'll organize shuttle from there after bibs are handed out

 

SAFETY: There will be safety set set all competition spots and a safety raft to provided assistance if needed. There will also be roving safety boaters. Multiple individuals with swift water rescue training will be on hand. Racers will be required to stop to help anyone in trouble on the river.

 

REQUIRED GEAR: Only whitewater appropriate craft will be permitted. competitors and Safety Boaters will be required to wear Coast Guard approved life jacket, helmet, proper footwear. competitors will also be required to carry a throw rope. 

 

RAIN DATE: this event happens rain or shine as long as levels are within a safe level
