CHKD School Healthcare Conference-2023

Time:                    7:45 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Location: Old Donation School, 4633 Honeygrove Rd., Virginia Beach

Target Audience: All school personnel, to include nurses, teachers, clinicians, and community agency professionals serving youth.

Conference Objectives: Offering a forum for healthcare agencies, school nurses, and school personnel to meet and share information on current health issues in the schools. Participants will learn how to find common ground in challenging situations, conduct clinic assessment of PE injuries, understand section 504 and IDEA, create a LGBTQ+ safe haven in school, assess rashes in the clinic, and how to support anxious students.

Continuing Education: 5.25 contact hours/re-certification points will be allotted for educational personnel, social workers, and nurses. Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters is an approved provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Virginia Nurses Association Continuing Education Approval Committee, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Contact hours will be awarded upon completion and submission of the electronic conference evaluation form.  Presenters of today’s program have disclosed no relevant financial relationships with agencies or individuals that impact or influence this educational activity. This educational activity is offered with no commercial support/sponsorship, no endorsement of products, or discussion of off-label use of medications.

Conference fees are non-refundable. Each participant will recieve a boxed lunch, conference snacks and bottled water.
