44th Annual Mile High United Way Turkey Trot

DESCRIPTION

In its 44th year, this fun Thanksgiving tradition draws more than 20,000 people to Denver’s beautiful Washington Park for a four-mile run and walk supporting Mile High United Way’s work in the community.

Proceeds from the Mile High United Way Turkey Trot go towards ensuring:

  • Children enter school ready to learn
  • Children are reading at grade level by the end of third grade
  • Young people graduate from high school ready for a career or college
  • Families have the opportunity to move towards self-sufficiency

Please join us at the 44th Annual Turkey Trot.

All proceeds from the event support Mile High United Way’s fight for the education, health, and financial stability for everyone in Metro Denver. To learn more about our work, and to get involved in other ways, please visit unitedwaydenver.org.

Event Features

Entry fee includes an awesome, soft, collectible t-shirt, bib with timing tag, and great pre- and post-race expos. The first 9,500 runners will receive a t-shirt, so take advantage of our many early registration opportunities in the months leading up to the race to ensure you get one for you and your family. Bib and t-shirt race packets are available for delivery (for a nominal charge). We will also be hosting a pre-race day pickup, and you’ll be able to pick-up and register on race day too.

Our Start and Finish Villages will be packed with Mile High United Way partners and sponsors, offering goodies and fun handouts for all – stay tuned all season long to learn who has signed on and the fun offerings they’ll be sharing with you. The best part? Great Divide is back again this year and hosting a free beer garden with an incredible selection of microbrews!

Corral Placement

Your Safety and enjoyment of the Mile High United Way Turkey Trot are our number one priority. To ensure this, we will utilize a corral assignment system for all participants. Your corral placement will depend on the selected estimated per mile time you will run or walk the event. Don't worry, your official time will not start until you cross the start line.

We know many of you will want to participate with friends and family, so just be sure to select the pace per mile of your slowest person in your group to be placed in the same corral. If you are not in the same corral, no worries, you can move back to a later corral, you just cannot move forward to the faster corrals.

Strollers and your well mannered leashed K9 friends are more than welcome. For your safety, the safety of others, and your K9 friends, you will be assigned to the last corrals.

Quarter Mile Family Fun-Run – a shorter path going partially around Grasmere Lake.

Event Day Schedule

  • 8:00 a.m. - Registration and corrals open
  • 10:00 a.m. - Opening ceremonies
  • 10:15 a.m. - First Corral start (each additional corral will start approximately every two minutes)
  • 10:45 a.m. - Family Fun Run start

This option is only available up through November 9 and must be done at the time of registration. For any questions concerning your mailed packets, please email lonnie@halsports.net.
