Course Overview
As more and more vehicle manufacturers choose ZF for their transmissions, repair shops can benefit from understanding the ZF 8HP transmission and diagnosing common issues often encountered in the repair environment. This in-depth class will take a detailed look into the function of the ZF 8HP transmission, focusing on best overhaul practices.
The course will begin with a classroom session, followed by hands-on opportunities where participants can apply their knowledge by working on a ZF 8HP transmission under the supervision of a ZF Technical Trainer.

Explain the torque flow through the gears
Describe the shift strategy used by the transmission
Identify common failures of the ZF 8HP
Explain the oil change procedure for the 8HP
Demonstrate how to properly check the oil level

Analyze transmission adaptation values and relearn procedures
Review the disassembly and assembly process of the transmission
