DESCRIPTION

 

 

The Alaska Ski for Women is North America’s largest women’s cross-country ski event, with close to 1,000 Alaska women coming together to celebrate skiing in beautiful Kincaid Park. On the first Sunday in February, women of all ages and abilities come out to ski approximately 4 km (2.4 miles), many in colorful costumes. The event supports the Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage and nonprofits working to stop domestic violence in Alaska.

 

   The final registration cost includes both the registration cost (seen above) and a 3% CC fee at the time of purchase.

  

Alaska Ski for Women Merch now on sale on the NSAA Webstore. Order online by Wednesday, Jan 29th by 11am to pick up at Bib pickup. 

 

Saturday, February 1st: Friends and Family Ski

  • 1pm- 5pm

The 4 km course will be decorated from noon to 4pm; ski at your leisure! Individuals, families, and groups of all genders are invited to register and ski the decorated course - bring the whole family!

 

Sunday, February 2nd: Main Event

Timed events on Sunday, Feb. 2nd includes classic and skate races, open to women, and girls. The party wave is open to women and girls, and boys under the age of 12. Sunday also features the costume contest and party wave!

 

    • Freestyle (Skate): Timed Race
      • 1:00 pm Start time
    • Classic: Timed Race
      • 1:30pm Start time
    • Costume Parade:  (goes around the stadium)
      • 2:30pm Start time
    • Party Wave*: Any participant from the timed events are welcome to join in for the party wave.
      • approximate 2:40pm start time
      • The Party Wave will start immediately after the Costume Parade
    • Food truck (Yeti Dogs), Online Charity Auction, free massages, and refreshments
      • 1:00pm Start time (Kincaid Chalet)
    • Flamingo Mixer
      • 1:30 – 4:00 pm; Bring your ID!
    • Award Ceremony
      • In Chalet at 3:30pm
    • Online Charity Auction
      • Closes at 4:30pm
      • Items can be picked up until 6pm from the Kincaid Chalet

This is not only a FUN event, it is a FUNdraising event! The Alaska Ski for Women supports the Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage and Alaska non-profits working to end the cycle of domestic violence in our community.
