Asanas in the Outfield

DESCRIPTION

  • Event Details: On Saturday morning, September 8th, the gates of Sprenger Stadium will be open to the public for a by donation only yoga event! It's our goal to pack the field with yogis throughout #Cleveland to help raise funds and awareness for Tough as Milk (learn more below.) Class starts promptly at 8:00 am, will be 60 minutes in length, and then stick around to mingle and browse through local vendors (TBD). To help us get an estimated attendance count, please pre-register using our sign up link. Also, please plan to bring cash for your class donation - thank you in advance, the HealthSource Chiropractic of Avon team!

  • Donate: In addition to donation-only yoga, we will be collecting gently used yoga mats and/or new workout clothing items. Often, a survivor must leave most of their possessions when they come into shelter and fitness items are not usually donated. This allows them to continue their practice once they leave shelter and encourages regular self-care. Have a spare mat in the closet you're not using? Bring it! Have a couple spare shirts or yoga pants that still have their tags on? We'll take those too!

  • About the Cause: Tough as Milk provides yoga and other fitness classes free of charge to survivors of domestic violence. They hold classes in shelters to make wellness accessible to survivors during one of the most vulnerable times in someone's life. After leaving an abusive relationship, many survivors suffer from PTSD, anxiety, depression, addiction and low self-esteem. A healthy exercise routine is a simple way for a survivor to invest in themselves and feel how strong they truly are. To learn more, visit: toughasmilk.org/
