Calgary Run for Water is a non-profit organization that raises money for clean water projects in Ethiopia. For the 7th year, Run for Water will feature a 10k Run, and 5k Walk/Jog/Run, as well as a 500m event for kids 5 and under.

The average person in North America is only 5 seconds away from clean water...the average person in Ethiopia is a 5 hour walk away from water.

This shouldn't be. BUT YOU CAN CHANGE THIS.

100% of the money raised by donating and fundraising goes directly into the communities to provide them with clean water and quality primary education. This means that girls no longer have to go on very long and laborious daily journeys in search of contaminated water. With access to safe, clean, drinking water, kids in the village can go to school, mothers can start businesses, fathers can water their crops, and children no longer die of waterborne diseases.

To date, the Calgary Run for Water has raised over $450,000, bringing clean water to more than 11,000 people in Ethiopia. Imagine if we ALL fundraised or donated? Think about the profound impact we can make.

Start Times: Kids' 500m Race: 9:00am; 10K - 9:30am; 5K - 9:35am

Disclaimer: As the river levels are unpredicatble at this time of year, we'll do our best to let you know of any course changes as they occur.

Your registration includes... 5K & 10K events: race bib & chip timing, race plaza entertainment, post-race food, optional T-shirt.

Kids' 500m event: race bib (not timed), medal, race plaza entertainment, post-race food.

T-shirts: At the point of registration, you can opt out of your race shirt if you so choose. Opting out allows the Run for Water to donate even more money to water projects in Ethiopia. Thanks for your consideration!”

Medals will be given to all youth 5k fun run finishers & all Kids' 500 m fun run participants. All kids 12 and under will receive a medal!

Race Package Pickup is on Thursday, June 7 @ 4-8pm, at Strides Running Store, 3558 Garrison Gate S.W. Race day pickup will be available on-site from 7:30-9:15am at St. Patrick's Island, Confluence Plaza
