St Patrick's Island, 1595 Bow River Pathway, Calgary, AB T2E, Canada

The average person in North America is only 5 seconds away from clean water...the average person in Ethiopia is a 5 hour walk away from water. This shouldn't be. BUT YOU CAN CHANGE THIS. 100% of the money raised by donating and fundraising goes directly into the communities to provide them with clean water, quality primary education, and a cascade of things like healthy livestock and gardens, abundant crops and small businesses.

Calgary Run for Water is a non-profit organization that raises money for clean water projects in Ethiopia. Run for Water features a 10K Run, and 5K Walk/Jog/Run, a 500M event for kids 5 & under-- plus our BRAND NEW Urban Ultra & Relay event!!

This new 61K distance- symbolic of the 61 million Ethiopians without access to safe water right now- can be completed either as a solo runner, or as a team of 2, 3 or 4. Your registration fee of $80 (if you're running one of the four legs) or $125 (if you're running 2 or more legs) provides clean water to a family in Ethiopia for LIFE! The approximate leg distances are as follows: Leg 1 is 16K; Leg 2 is 12.5K; Leg 3 will be 22.5K; and Leg 4 is 10K, falling right on the Run For Water 10K route. Teammates will need to predetermine which legs each person will run and let us know at the point of registration. The Ultra starts at Carburn Park, SE and will lead you along the beautiful Bow River pathways, for a celebratory end at St. Patrick's island to join the Run For Water finish line program. More information is available on our Urban Ultra & Relay info page.

To date, the Calgary Run for Water has raised over $500 000. Imagine if we ALL fundraised or donated? Think about the profound impact we could make! THIS YEAR DON’T JUST RUN, RAISE for clean water in Ethiopia! A link to simply set up your fundraising page will be in your registration confirmation email.
