DESCRIPTION

Registration is now closed. Please consider signing up for the Diversify Whitewater SUP Lesson on June 28 in Lakewood, CO. Thank you for your interest!

Join Diversify Whitewater, a national nonprofit that works to share the beauty of paddling with Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), and Allies, for the third annual Community River Float on the Cache la Poudre River near Fort Collins, Colorado. Participants will ride in rafts with experienced river guides down an exciting stretch of whitewater. No experience or equipment is necessary to participate!

This Community River Float will be hosted by Lily Durkee of Diversify Whitewater and Michele Crockett of RiverBent and sponsored by Rocky Mountain Adventures and the City of Fort Collins Natural Areas.

We are also looking for event volunteers to guide rafts, set safety, and help with on-shore tasks. Please sign-up as a volunteer above if you are interested!

Participants and volunteers will meet at Picnic Rock at 8:00am on Saturday, June 25 and will shuttle up to the launch site at Gateway Natural Area. The group will float the beginner-friendly Filter Plant section of the Poudre River in guided rafts and other crafts together. On the river, participants will learn whitewater rafting basics with experienced river guides while navigating class I-III rapids. Lunch from Me Oh My Pie will be provided for all attendees at Picnic Rock after the river run. Participants will also have the chance to win outdoor gear and apparel from Kokatat, Immersion Research, Watershed Drybags, Badfish SUP, NRS and other local business sponsors. This event is 100% FREE for all attendees!

Please contact Lily at lily@diversifywhitewater.org with any questions or if you need transportation help to attend the event. We can’t wait to see you on the river.

Diversify Whitewater acknowledges, with respect, that this event will be taking place on Arapaho, Cheyenne, and Ute lands.
