Diversify Whitewater Community River Float - New Mexico

Join Diversify Whitewater, a nonprofit organization that works to share the beauty of paddling with Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), and Allies, for a Community River Float on the Rio Grande in the South Valley, New Mexico. Participants will learn the basics of water safety and paddling techniques for kayaking, canoeing, and stand-up paddle boarding, and will hear stories of river history, environmental pollution, cleanup, and environmental justice movements. No experience or equipment is necessary to participate!

The Diversify Whitewater Community River Float & Environmental Justice Paddle Tour on the Rio Grande will be hosted by Adobe Whitewater Club and Friends of the Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge.

Participants will meet at Valle de Oro NWR at 9:00am and then head to the put-in spot on the river to begin the tour. All groups will be guided by river professionals and expert paddlers. Refreshments will be provided for participants along with a chance to win some awesome prizes. This event is 100% FREE for all attendees!

Unete a Diversify Whitewater, una organización no lucrativa nacional que trabaja para compartir la belleza de remar con Negro, indígena, gente de color (BIPOC), y aliados, por una salida por el Rio Grande en Albuquerque. Los participantes aprenderán los conceptos básicos de seguridad en el agua, historias del rio y la justicia ambiental del area, y habilidades de remo para kayak, canoa, y más. ¡No se necesita experiencia ni equipo para participar!

El tour de justicia ambiental está patrocinado por Diversify Whitewater, Adobe Whitewater Club, y Amigos de Valle de Oro NWR.

Los participantes se reunirán en el parque Valle de Oro NWR a las 9 a.m. y luego se dirigirán al rio para empezar la salida.
