Whovian Running Club is pleased to announce our second event:

Don't Blink 10k RUN!

Celebrating one of the most terrifying creatures in the universe, the Don't Blink 10k RUN! features a 3" medal with a Weeping Angel...and the hands will MOVE! That's right! You can keep the hands over the eyes or move them to the sides to reveal the face of the Angel (just don't look into the eyes!). The hands will be kept firmly in place with magnets, but you might want to keep a mirror nearby just in case!

While the medal might be terrifying, but our charity partner is nothing but inspiring! We are pleased to announce that all of the proceeds from this event will go to support Achilles International and the Achilles Freedom Team of disabled veterans! The Achilles Freedom Team brings running and marathon opportunities to veterans who suffered trauma while serving in a branch of the United States military, predominantly those who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. These incredible veterans run and utilize custom hand-cycles. Whovian Running Club's second event is going to support the Achilles Freedom Team and it is our goal to sponsor the ENTIRE FREEDOM TEAM for a 2017 marathon event! And if this event is as successful as we hope it will be, we will ALSO purchase a custom Dr. Who-themed/TARDIS style hand-cycle for one of those veterans to use for their races!

The suggested run date for this event is Monday, 28 November...Karen Gillan's birthday! Celebrate the defeat of the Weeping Angels on the Byzantium by running on the birthday of the actress who portrayed Amy Pond! This is only a fun suggestion. You are welcome to complete your 10k whenever you want! Registration will close at midnight on November 30th, and all of the medals will be mailed a few days later!
