Dragon Con Charity Events is pleased to announce the inaugural Dragon Con virtual 3.5 mile event in honor of Dragon Con's 35th Anniversary!
Everyone who registers for Dragon Con Hustle: Ascent will get this awesome 3" medal featuring the Dragon completely ignoring the escalators and ascending the Marriott's famous interior. It comes on a beautiful dye-sublimated ribbon featuring the Dragon Con anniversary logo and the logo of the charity beneficiary for this event: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta! You'll also get a custom digital bib (with a very familiar background) for you to download and print out or use on social media. You can use any bib name and bib number you want. You can be "Jenny"/"867-5309" if you want...or have "42" or "9 3/4"...Make it fun!
The charity beneficiary this year is Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta! Nearly half a million children in Metro Atlanta live in communities with low or very low child well-being. BBBS' vital mission is to recruit volunteers to become mentors to children facing adversity. Their goal is to serve more children and increase positive outcomes by matching them with an adult who will ignite their full potential. Support them and you are supporting the Defenders of Potential!!
This event is "virtual" meaning that you can complete the distance any way at any location you want...including logging miles/getting steps AT Dragon Con! You can walk, hike, run, skip, roll or dance your 3.5 miles in your neighborhood, on your treadmill, around your backyard, or anywhere you want! You can even break up the distance and complete it over several days to make it more manageable!
This event is on the "honor system", so we don't need "proof" of completion. As long as you're registered you'll get your medal. BUT...we want you to post your sweaty selfie on social media afterwards, make sure to tag us with #DragonConHustle so we can see it and give you a virtual high-five!
Your registration fee is a tax-deductible donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta. Your confirmation email will serve as your receipt, so hold on to it for tax purposes. Medals will be ordered in mid-September and sent out to all participants before the end of October.
