SPECIAL PRESENTATION

Research shows how key positive childhood experieces (PCEs) prevent and mitigate the effects of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and toxic stress. Participants will learn about the four building blocks of HOPE and participate in thoughtful discussion that will enable them to begin to incorporate the HOPE framework into their own families and/or their work with families.

 

Presenter: Michele Tryon, CHKD community outreach coordinator and parent educator is a certified child life specialist and a recently trained HOPE facilitator who has received recogntion from the project HOPE team with The Center for Community Engaged Medicine at Tuft's University. She is a steering committee member of the Hampton Roads Trauma Informed Community Network and co-chairs the Hampton Roads Parent Education Network. As a nationally recognized trainer and consultant with Nurturing Parenting Programs, Michele has dedicated her career to creating nurturing homes, schools, communities and healthcare experiences for children and families and is inspired by the Healthy Outcomes form Positive Experiences (HOPE) framework as an agent of change.
