Join us on this inaugural edition of the Fred Jones Memorial Bicycle Ride on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at 8 AM.

This FREE 35-mile bike ride, inspired by the late Fred Jones personal training rides, takes cyclists through Brooklyn and Queens mostly following bike lanes, greenways and bike friendly streets. We start near the historic Stuyvesant Heights district and cruise through the waterfronts of Red Hook, Dumbo, Williamsburg and the green spaces of Prospect, Forest and Highland Parks. The ride culminates at the Tompkins Avenue Open Streets.

The Fred Jones Memorial Bicycle Ride (FJMR) is being presented in memory of the late Manifred Jones, to celebrate his life and service to the cycling and Bedford-Stuyvesant communities. Additionally, we pay our respects to all our neighbors we lost to COVID-19. We invite everyone everywhere to help us celebrate our city’s reopening with a fun day of movement and re-engagement with our communities.

The FJMR is also pleased to present a FREE Kids Learn to Ride Class on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at 12:30 PM. The class will take place within the Tompkins Avenue Open Streets. This class is in partnership with our friends at Bike New York. Class space is limited. Please register HERE.
