This show is a double bill featuring two distinct projects from JL Stiles.  A fanatic of the ragtime, blues and folk guitar maestros and singers of early jazz and blues, JL Stiles founded Hobo Paradise (featured in the second set) to funnel his own songs in this vein as well as the classics with a three piece horn section that is a party waiting to happen.  The band features trumpeter Doug Ellington, great nephew of Duke and he never fails to tear the roof off a place, Mike Rinta on trombone (Santana, Jimmie Vaughan) and top arranger in the Bay Area, wizard Tom Griesser on saxophone/clarinet and virtuosic former student of Chuck Brown, drummer, Erik Cruze. Stiles has shared the stage with the late luminaries, Etta James, JJ Cale, BB King, and also Keb' Mo', Mary Chapin Carpenter and a host of others.  The first set will feature JL Stiles songs under his own name in duo form with Doug Ellington.  These songs are quite varied and innovative in style but they have old souls.
