Kanata Race Day is a community fun run open to all ages. Proceeds from this event support ongoing enhancements of the Richcraft Recreation Complex Kanata and recreation within the community.
Featuring a 10K, 5K, 1K, and 200m Tot Trot, the race is held at the Richcraft Recreation Complex Kanata (RRCK). The 5/10K events start and finish on Innovation Drive and head northeast to Hines Road and continue into the Nordion Canada campus. The 5K does one loop, and the 10K covers two loops. The 1K is an out-and-back route along Innovation Drive.
If you're registering a group of 6 or more, please email us before you complete your registration at hello@kanataraceday.ca to get a code for 10% off everyone in your group. Please include the number you plan to register in your email.
Please note that discount codes work for "group" and "individual" registrations. Only choose group if you're paying for registrations in advance and want each individual in your group to enter their own information after the fact. This option is useful for corporate and other groups that want one person to manage the registrants. Choosing "individual" allows you to register groups as well.
Kanata Race Day is one of a number of fundraising initiatives undertaken by Kanata North Councillor Cathy Curry and board members of Kanata North Recreation Centre Inc. All proceeds support the enhancement of the Richcraft Recreation Complex-Kanata (RRCK) and its programming.
The original RRCK facility design called for just a 6-lane swimming pool and a small skateboard park. Fundraising has supported the addition of 2 swim lanes thus creating an 8-lane pool suitable to meet the aquatic recreation needs of Kanata and West Carleton residents.
The larger pool at RRCK is now home to various swim clubs and teams, offers more swim lessons, and more opportunities for adult fitness swimming. Fundraising has also expanded the expanded skateboard park, which now serves a large child, youth and adult population. Without your support, these worthwhile additions would not be possible.
While the RRCK is fully built and operating, we are still in need of fundraising dollars to meet our financial commitments to this facility. Also, programming in the wooded March Highlands surrounding the facility is offered through a unique Junior Ranger program initiated by Marianne Wilkinson.
