Notice of Race

Organizing Authority: The organizing authority of the Pacific Northwest Area Championship is the Hobie Class Association - Division 4.

Rules: The event will be conducted in accordance with the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the International Hobie Class Association Class Rules and the US Sailing Prescriptions to the RRS. Sailing Instructions will be available at registration.

Entries: This event is open to all Hobie classes. HCANA membership is required of the crew or skipper, and boat liability insurance of $100,000 is required.

Fees: Single Handed $45 Double Handed $55
Fees include a weekend of world-class racing, Saturday dinner for helm & crew, T-shirts, raffle, trophies. Since people say you don’t get anything for free, we’re going to throw in – relaxation, fresh air, and quality family time.

Sunday August 18th

The Pacific Northwest Area Championship event headquarters is at the Rain Forest Resort Village, on the south shore of Lake Quinault. There is RV parking at the Rain Forest Resort and three other campgrounds on the lake. Willaby and Falls Creek campground reservations can be made through www.reserveamerica.com. Gatton Creek campground is walk-in only and is first come first served.

Hobie Division 4 Code of Conduct Pledge

As members of the Hobie Family, enjoying the “Hobie Way of Life” together, we shall pledge to watch over and protect each other. We shall all strive to set examples of good conduct and sportsmanship and treat each other with respect and dignity. Adult participants shall take responsibility for the wellbeing of all youth at our events. It may be possible adult beverages (aka controlled substances) may be present at some of our events. Underage youth shall not acquire or consume any adult beverages or controlled substances at these events. All adults shall assure that no adult beverages or controlled substances are provided to, acquired by, or consumed by, underage youth at these events to the extent possible. We shall all aim for a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. And we shall all Have a Hobie Day!
