Lap the Gats for Parkinson’s is an exciting, original and fun cycling event that supports Parkinson’s disease research in Ottawa. Not only does the event result in raising funds for innovative projects but raises awareness about the importance of research in Parkinson’s and its impact on patients living with the disease.
The 5th annual event will take place on June 24, 2018 on the scenic 21 km loop in the beautiful hills of Gatineau Park in Chelsea, Quebec. We are proud to work in partnership with Nokia Sunday Bike Day allowing participants to ride without worrying about traffic as the park is closed.
The event is meant to be enjoyed by all levels in solo and team categories. Medals for fastest loop and climb are awarded in different gender and age categories. For competitive riders looking for a challenge, we will be awarding a yellow jersey to the rider who can complete the highest number of loops in the shortest time, and the coveted red polka dot jersey to the fastest rider on a timed uphill sprint.
