Lincoln Center's Summer for the City presents Brazil Week, July 16-20

This July, Lincoln Center will showcase Brazil’s most vibrant artistry and cultural traditions with concerts and programs spanning July 16-20. As a part of their Summer for the City festival, Brazil Week showcases the country’s diversity, depth, and creative excellence.

 

The week will offer select performances at Lincoln Center’s Family Storytime, Comedy Underground and Jazz Underground series, as well as Brasil Summerfest, presenting an astonishing roster of brasileiros ao vivo e pessoalmente. There’s something for everyone to enjoy, all for free!

 

Some highlights of the week include:

  • Dance Storytime with Ingrid Silva

  • Dynamic Brazilian big band, Gafieira Rio Miami, founded by Latin GRAMMY winner Diogo Brown

  • Seven-time Latin GRAMMY Award-winning singer/songwriter Lenine

  • Bold, groundbreaking superstar, singer-songwriter Liniker

  • NYLaughs, headlined by Rafi Bastos and featuring a vibrant comedic lineup of South American voices

  • A selection of works from the permanent collection of the Instituto Museu Itamar Assumpção, a private, non-profit museum dedicated to the life and work of artist Itamar Assumpção

  • Renowned Brazilian band Os Mutantes

  • A celebration of the sounds of Brazil through the potent group music-making gathering known as a Roda de Choro, led by New York-based Brazilian choro and samba ensemble Regional Samaúma

  • DJs Daniel Costta and Mari Mac Dowell at NYC’s largest outdoor dancefloor

  • Samba Fit class lead by Marizete Browne and footed in the vibrant rhythms of Brazil
