As part of the 2024 Ingenium Innovation Challenge, Autumn Peltier will be delivering a keynote and Q&A followed by a discussion from various perspectives in the water industry, moderated by Corinne Lynds from Water Canada. If you are not a participant of the Ingenium Innovation Challenge, this is your opportunity to tune in to the presentations!

Speakers

Keynote: Autumn Peltier's journey for justice has made waves around the globe. She's been a featured speaker at The World Economic Forum, is a regular guest speaker at The United Nations, and was the 2022 runner up for International Children’s Peace Prize. Autumn’s movie “The Water Walker” documentary was released on HBO Canada and has been available across many of Canada’s school boards.

Panel:

Moderator: Corinne Lynds, VP of Content & Partnerships at Actual Media, is a seasoned multi-platform journalist, content marketing strategist, and industry speaker. With over two decades of experience leading editorial teams and shaping content strategy, Corinne plays a pivotal role in overseeing Actual Media's editorial and content operations within the infrastructure, water, and environment sectors.

Layla Staats (formerly Black) is a multidisciplinary artist specializing in digital media, marketing and content creation. She has trained thousands on the power of video for her experience and knowledge with other aspiring entrepreneurs with a story to tell. Layla has produced her own short documentary and is currently working on her second which are screening through educational systems globally. 

Karissa Aubie is the Acting Manager of the Wastewater Program at Environment and Climate Change Canada. Karissa has worked on wastewater related issues for more than four years and her team is responsible for administering federal wastewater regulations.

Patrick Kiely is the CEO and founder of SENTRY. SENTRY is a bio-electrode sensor platform that provides wastewater quality monitoring and optimization of anaerobic and aerobic wastewater treatment systems. Patrick is trained as an environmental microbiologist with over 20 years of experience in the fields of molecular microbiology, and next generation wastewater / bio-energy applications.

Jose Torcal is a civil engineer with over ten years working across six countries in regeneration, sustainability and public space through water. His projects and interventions address climate change and improve neighbourhoods, starting from the community. He has a strong commitment to collaborate across sectors and organizations to support the global movement towards sustainable communities.
