Managing Food Allergies in Children

You are invited to a special presentation and free dinner hosted by CHKD, the FARE Neighborhood Initiative, and CoFAS Coastal Food Allergy Support. Join us to learn how to prevent, recognize, and manage food allergies in the school setting. 

Who should attend: Nurses, teachers, and school administrators.

Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Virginia Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. CHKD designates this activity for a maximum of 2.25 contact hours.

Program Presenters:  

Dr. Angela Hogan is a professor of Pediatrics at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Allergy/Immunology at the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters and is a senior partner of Children’s Specialty Group. She is a Coastal Virginia Magazine Top doctor, and Medical director of Coastal Virginia Food Allergy Support Group (CoFASva.org). 

 

Dr. Lauren Smith is an assistant professor of Pediatrics at Eastern Virginia Medical School in the Department of Allergy/Immunology at the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters and is a senior partner of Children’s Specialty Group. She is a Coastal Virginia Magazine Top Doctor and Division director for Allergy/Immunology. 

 

Betsey Looney, BSN, is a school nurse for Norfolk Academy and school nurse coordinator for the Richmond Diocese and community liaison. She is the Virginia Association of School Nurses current president.
