The Oakland Magic Circle celebrates its 100th Anniversary with magicians from Northern California's magic clubs competing for $500 in cash prizes during the exciting annual stage magic contest. As a spectator you will witness top magicians presenting their performances, preceded by a multi-course pasta dinner and close-up magic.
A family-friendly spectacular open to all magic enthusiasts and the general public, with a stellar line-up of magicians offering stunning illusions, mind-boggling mentalism, laugh-out-loud comedy, and a range of marvelous prestidigitation to amaze you --all live and in person! And plenty of audience participation.
A delicious meal with pasta (choice of Bolognese or Vegetarian sauce), salad, vegetables, bread, drinks,& chocolate-dipped cookies. Guests will dine among magicians.
Free lighted off-street parking in the fenced lot behind the Scottish Rite Center, opposite 1555 Madison Street.
Doors open at 5:30 PM with strolling magicians at the tables; pre-show dinner begins at 6 PM followed by the Northern California Magic Contest beginning at 7 PM.
The Oakland Magic Circle is the oldest independent magic club west of the Mississippi, meeting continuously since July, 1925. Many members have gone on to successful professional magic careers. Hundreds of top conjurers have performed and lectured at the club. Three annual contests with cash prizes, workshops, a magic flea market and auction plus special presentations occur at monthly meetings. Membership is available to all ages-- amateurs, professionals, historians, collectors, and others with a strong interest in the art of legerdemain.
