DESCRIPTION

The Event: 15-year-old marathon swimmer, Edie Markovich, will attempt to continuously swim for 25 miles to raise money for charity. Edie believes that food is a basic human right and that no one should go without it, especially during a pandemic. For that reason, she is supporting two non-profit organizations. The food drive that will take place during Edie’s swim is organized to benefit the Burbank Temporary Aid Center’s Pantry. The Burbank Temporary Aid Center has been providing emergency aid to families and individuals since 1974. Please bring nonperishable packaged food items to the event location (3201 W. Verdugo Ave. Burbank, CA 91505) between 5:30am and 5:30pm (3/13/2021). Monetary donations will go to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank has distributed a staggering 1.7 billion pounds of food since 1973.

This remarkable challenge is sponsored by the great people of the LA Tri Club, Coast 2 Coast Swim Challenge, and generously supported by the City of Burbank.
