Protecting Our Children Sexual Assault Prevention Summit

DESCRIPTION

The New Orleans Sexual Assault Response Team (NOLA SART), New Orleans Family Justice Center (NOFJC), and the New Orleans Health Department will co-host its 1st Annual Sexual Assault Prevention Summit on Tuesday August 9, 2016 with a primary focus on Protecting Our Children: Cultivating Systematic Measures of Prevention, Intervention and Safety Among Children. This ½ -day summit aims to provide teachers, administrators, community leaders, mentors, and coaches with the tools necessary to take action in promoting safety, respect, and equality among children and teens. The goal of the summit is to provide community awareness and help to change the negative stigma and culture of sexual violence and to create a safe community.

Through prevention we can come together as a community to end sexual assault.

Do Dating Right Sexual Assault Panel Discussion

(Teens are invited to attend the Teen Track of the Summit and to use their voice on how we can end sexual violence in our communities. The teen track will be presented simultaneously and separately from the adult tracks).

Due to limited space, priority will be given to professionals who work directly with children and teens within the school systems. (*Be sure to read the waiver on the registration page).

CEUs for Social Workers will be offered with a maximum of 2.5 hours.
