Paul “The Ultimate” Vaden, former World Junior Middleweight Boxing Champion, is now also an author, advisor, TV commentator, mentor, coach, and motivational speaker. Through his wit, charm, and openness, he shares his secret to success about managing stress and facing life’s challenges.

He motivates and inspires both clients and audiences to strive for excellence in every aspect of their lives; whether it is business, personal, or physical health.Vaden started his 23-year boxing career at the age of eight. He knew from a young age that he wanted to be a world boxing champion. In his professional boxing career, he held a record of 29 wins, 3 losses, and 16 KOs.

He won the 1994 International Boxing Federation (IBF) World Championship, 1995 IBF Jr. Middleweight World Championship, 1999 USBA Jr. Middleweight World Championship, and was inducted into the California Boxing Hall of Fame in 2009.

On February 16th, 2016, Paul became the third boxer to ever be inducted into the Breitbard Hall of Fame. This prestigious honor can be found inside San Diego’s historic Hall of Champions in Balboa Park.

After retiring from boxing, he began commentating for boxing telecasts on TV and served as the Global Health Advisor for Qualcomm, Inc. He also realized that he could help motivate and encourage others through his own experiences, which led to the start of his training programs, motivational seminars, and corporate wellness programs which are defined by the premise that he has followed his entire life: Answer The Bell. His speaking programs include Answer the Bell Seminars, Answer the Bell Team Building Boxing Adventures, corporate speaking, conference speaking, keynote speaking, and special events.

Paul is also a dedicated community member — volunteering his time at schools and with charity organizations. His love for seeing others succeed has motivated him to start speaking at school programs and camp programs, where he encourages the youth to follow their passions and fulfill their dreams.

Currently, Paul serves on boards for both the San Diego Chapter for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) as well as the National Conflict Resolution Center (NCRC). In addition to his role on the board, Paul is also the Celebrity Spokesperson for the JDRF.In 2013,

Paul Vaden published his first book Answer the Bell: Inventing Your Life as a Champion. The book gives his readers a first-hand account of his own personal challenges as a boxer; beginning with the Jackie Robinson YMCA, and including the peak of his career at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Hotel & Casino. Throughout his writing, he incorporates the many skills he has learned in the boxing ring which serve as motivational tools for helping others live, walk, and breathe with the mindset of a champion, regardless of their challenges.

Paul is a consultant and mentor for many San Diego companies. He brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role as Champion in Residence at Underground Elephant, where he served as the tech startup’s Team Mentor.

He is now currently serving as a consultant for the San Diego Gas and Electric Company (SDG&E). With a disarming blend of candor, honesty and hopefulness, his counsel allows people to reach new personal peaks and face life’s daily challenges head-on.
