The Southern Oregon Medical Society hosts monthly events, on the second Wednesday of each month, to provide CME and social opportunities. We look forward to seeing you!

 

Rheumatology

Speaker: Giorgos Loizidis, MD, RhMSUS, Southern Oregon Rheumatology Clinic

Free CME available for those who attend the learning session from 6:30-7:30 PM. Special thanks to Providence for coordinating CME.

Why: Gout is on the rise around the world, especially in the United States, now impacting about 5% of individuals. Although treatments are inexpensive and effective, providers frequently undertreat this painful disease. This is your opportunity to hear from an expert and walk away with several pearls to help you care for your patients. As always, there will be food and time for networking.

Objectives: 

  1. Understand the epidemiologic trends, pathophysiology, and risk factors for gout.
  2. Recognize the clinical presentation and diagnosis of gout.
  3. Differentiate gout from other arthritides.
  4. Apply evidence-based management to treat gout.

Who: All MDs, DOs, NPs, and PAs in southern Oregon, and all visiting students and residents in southern Oregon.

Event Details:

  • Dinner will be provided at no charge, starting at 6:00 PM.
  • CME Presentation at 6:30 PM.
  • Social Time 7:30-9:00 PM.
  • Alcohol available for purchase.

Parking at Skyline Plaza is limited. If the lot is full, you may find parking on the street or at the Quail Point Golf Course parking lot at 8546, 1200 Mira Mar Ave, Medford.
