Welcome to the University Week of Writing Summer Endeavor Program!

This year's University Week of Writing will be at the attractive, lively, yet focused and driven environment of San Diego State University. In your week, you will improve your writing proficiency, enhance your presentation confidence and bolster your technology toolbox in the Simple Simon Summer ® Endeavor Program!

Why Simple Simon? People of all ages think writing is complicated – speaking impossible. The Simple Simon Structure – It's the simplicity of writing & speaking!

Your high schooler's week of activities will include:

• Introduction to the “Simple Simon Structure” ® writing program of Topic Tree, Comment Times Three ®
• Workshops to improve upon your writing proficiency, presentation confidence and technology toolbox
• Seven days of instruction, receiving a true college experience, through fun and exciting summer activities
• Personalized focus on response to writing prompts - for any high school student
• Focus on college/scholarship/job application writing skills
• A presentation component, which focuses on public speaking and presenting in front of small and/or large audiences

Who is Endeavor Programs designed for?

• High school students grade 10. Sophomores have the best head start. The Simple Simon Structure will project them to new writing heights in high school. They will learn fun, solid structure consistent with AP, SAT, ACT and college level writing.

• High school students grade 11. Juniors have the last chance to shine bright enough to be selected for their college - just before their senior year.

• High school students grade 12. Seniors have the opportunity to package themselves after all those years of school.

When students apply for college, their sophomore & junior years are the most important? The senior years cannot even count, when the applications are submitted only 2 months into their senior year.

THE JUNIOR YEAR IS THE CRITICAL YEAR!

Guess what colleges and scholarships want? A compelling personal statement. Though the personal statement is critical, students must write themselves out of high school. That's what Endeavor Programs is for!

Technology tools needed in high school and college

• Students will learn and intensely practice with Google Drive program and file sharing.

• Students finish the week with development of their personal statement, the REQUIREMENT for college and scholarships, and provides the jump-start they need prior to the busy school semester ahead!
