SpeakOut Illinois is the state's premiere pro-life conference, held annually.
Sponsored by the SpeakOut Illinois Coalition, a group of pro-life and pro-family groups from across the state, this conference will equip you to fight for your values in the coming year. At SpeakOut Illinois 2020 you can learn about the various groups working in our state, meet and collaborate with fellow pro-lifers, and get energized for the year ahead.
This year's conference will feature keynote speaker Mary-Louise Hengesbaugh.
Mary-Louise served as the Respect Life Director for the Archdiocese of Chicago from 2003 to 2010, when she left that post to welcome her first adopted son. She and her husband, Brian Hengesbaugh, subsequently adopted their second son and welcomed their daughter in 2017. Mary-Louise is the chair of the board of Illinois Citizens for Ethics Political Action Committee (ICE-PAC), as well as founder and chair of Girls’ Health First (an initiative of ICE-PAC), which is her response to Illinois’ extreme abortion law of 2019.
As Miss Wisconsin, Mary-Louise spoke to more than 180,000 teens and young adults in 23 states about her platform, sexual abstinence until marriage, and wrote the book Standing with Courage on the topic.
Pastor Cesar LeFlore will also speak after receiving the Henry Hyde Life Leadership Award.
Pastor LeFlore is the founder and executive director of The Beloved Community Development Coalition, working for community transformation in the southeast suburbs of Chicago. He is a published author, and holds positions with several pro-life and pro-family ministries both here in Illinois and nationally, including Life Education and Research Network (LEARN), Illinois Family Institute, the Southland Coalition for Life, and 40 Days for Life. Pastor LeFlore served for 14 years as Associate Pastor of New Community
Illinois State Senator Dan McConchie will also speak. He may have single-handedly preserved the Illinois Parental Notice of Abortion Act through his skillful questioning of the Reproductive Health Act's (RHA) sponsor during the Senate Floor debate. The responses he elicited created a legislative history that could stand up to a court's review of the parental notice law, a life-saving protection for minor girls. More about Dan here. He'll share his take on the 2020 political climate in Illinois and what to expect out of Springfield.
Join us for a sit-down breakfast, valuable talks, a memorial service, an expo of pro-life organizations, and an opportunity to connect with wonderful like-minded individuals.
Since it's an election season, you'll be sure to see plenty of pro-life legislators and candidates.
