STEAM Effect Project | Project l'effet STIAM

DESCRIPTION

*Please note that submitting your expression of interest does not guarantee you a spot in the program. A variety of selection criteria will be taken into consideration.

Are you between the ages of 14 and 17? Do you go to high school in the downtown/south-east Ottawa area? The Canada Science and Technology Museum is currently looking for 15 youth to join the 4th session of the STEAM Effect Project. We are looking to provide opportunities to youth who do not usually participate in after-school programs and who do not see themselves represented in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts or Mathematics (STEAM).

Over the course of 12 weeks, you will get to explore issues around accessibility and how we can use science and technology to be an ally to those living with disabilities. You will get to learn about 3D printing, laser cutting, coding and prototyping. You will also get to work with experts in accessibility design, along with people living with disabilities to better understand the realities of their daily lives.

The new session of the STEAM Effect Project runs from Saturday, September 14 to Saturday, November 30, 2019. The program runs on Tuesdays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you complete the program, you will also receive a bursary at the end of the session.

You have until Wednesday, September 11, 2019 to complete and submit this form to express your interest in participating in the program. The program coordinator will contact you no later than Thursday, September 12, 2019 at the email address you provide.
