Join Team BEYOND for the 37th El Tour de Tucson on Saturday, November 23, 2019!

This is our first year participating in El Tour de Tucson and we’re looking for a group of riders to join Team BEYOND for both the Main Event and the Fun Ride.Riding for BEYOND Tucson will raise valuable funds to help improve the health and well-being of our community, supporting events, activities, and programming to encourage our neighbors to MOVE, EXPLORE, NOURISH, and CONNECT.

Team BEYOND Details

To join Team BEYOND and ride for the Beyond Foundation in the 2019 El Tour de Tucson, each cyclist riding in the Main Event (100, 50, or 25 miles) pledges to raise $150 or more for BEYOND.

  • Each team member pays an entry fee (main event: $145) and pledges to raise $150 or more in contributions. You will get your own fundraising page to use with social media for greater success!
  • Team members may choose to fundraise for their entry fee, and commit to raising $150 or more above that amount (i.e. a total of $295 fundraised to ride in the main event).
  • Entry fees are passed on to Perimeter Bicycling and are not tax deductible. However, all donations made are tax deductible as allowed by the IRS and may qualify towards the Arizona tax credit.
  • Registration closes on October 28, 2019. To register after this date, please visit Perimeter Bicycling.
  • Fundraising must be complete by November 15, 2019.

Fundraising Incentives (contributions must be turned in by October 1, 2019)

  • Collect $250 in contributions and receive a BEYOND water bottle
  • Collect $500 in contributions and receive a BEYOND water bottle and a BEYOND jersey
  • Collect $1,000 or more in contributions and receive a BEYOND water bottle, a BEYOND jersey, and the El Tour Conquistador trophy

The Ride

Held annually the Saturday before Thanksgiving, El Tour is a fund raising adventure ride attracting over 9,000 cyclists of all ages and abilities from throughout the United States and worldwide. Participants are novice, intermediate, advanced, and professional cyclists riding 100% human powered bicycles.

The Participants

El Tour riders share a desire to ride, meet great people, raise contributions for charities and have fun. Participants enjoy the ride and its festivities out of a passion for cycling, as a benchmark for a wellness program , as a symbol of surviving a major illness or other life challenge or to honor another person.

The Route

Main event distances are 100, 50, or 25 miles. Fun Ride distances are 10, 5, 1 or ¼ mile. Main event routes feature beautiful vistas of Tucson’s four surrounding mountain ranges against the backdrop of the iconic Saguaro cactus. Course profiles range from flat to rolling or moderately hilly. The 25-mile route is mostly flat - great for families and perfect for a first-time event! The 100 & mile event feature the famous “creek crossing.” The Fun Ride offers easy and scenic routes along the Santa Cruz River-part of The Loop, Pima County’s famous multi-use path.

The Finish

The 100-mile start line is at Armory Park in Downtown Tucson which also hosts the finish line celebration for all distances. Cyclists collect a special finisher’s medallion based on distance and/or finish time. Party with family and friends at the Fiesta complete with non-stop music, the Beer Garden, food vendors, El Tour Perimeter Store merchandise, kids activities, the Grand Cycling Awards Ceremony!
