601 Children's Ln, Norfolk, VA 23507, USA

DESCRIPTION

Understanding that every teenager is different, and meeting them where they are at the time, is crucial to developing a healthy and trusting relationship. Providing support for physical health is important, too, but not enough. Stephanie Osler, LCSW and CHKD Director of Mental Health Services Line will provide foster care parents with an overview of the protective factors that build trusting relationships with teenagers in the home. An overview of trauma and its impact on development, tips to diffuse intense emotions and build trust will be shared, along with self-care and mental health information and resources.
