WHAT IS SARCOMA?

Sarcoma is a rare type of cancer that affects bones and soft tissues. It often affects young individuals, in fact, just like Terry Fox, Valérie was diagnosed with sarcoma at the age of 19. There are many different types of sarcoma and they can all act quite differently. Sarcoma is relatively rare, therefore research dollars have not been allocated nearly enough to explore the best types of treatments for this particular type of cancer. Our efforts are helping to fund research projects at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute that seek to improve treatments for sarcoma patients.

ABOUT VALÉRIE'S FLUTTER FOUNDATION

Founded in 2011 by Valérie Goneau, a 20-year-old engineering student who lost her battle to sarcoma. When she was diagnosed, Valérie created the Flutter Foundation to inspire the community to come together and support sarcoma research. To date, the Foundation has raised over $350,000 for bone cancer research at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute and CHEO. The demand for innovative treatments to battle the many forms of bone cancer has grown significantly over the past years, therefore we need your support to continue to move the research forward. FUNDRAISING

The top individual fundraiser for the tournament will win a Muskoka Golf Package worth over $2,000 which includes two rounds of golf for Four (4) and accommodations.
